Flax Seed


Flax seed is an excellent source of fiber, and of course, fiber is great for weight loss. Unfortunately, once it is converted to an oil or used in extract form, the fiber is lost. So, flax seed used in your diet, in seed form, may help you lose weight because fiber helps cleanse the colon and promotes weight loss by improving digestive health and ridding the body of toxins. Flax seed is also touted for its phyto-estrogen lignans that help regulate female problems. But don’t buy into the extracts or oils for this benefit either because the lignans are removed during processing.
Amount needed: 1-2 Tablespoons per day of flax seed (not extract or oil)
