Great Product… for Some.

Shaun T knows what he’s doing. The program covers all the important aspects of fitness (strength, flexibility, balance & cardio) using very effective and efficient training like plyometrics, circuit training, yoga and resistance.

But, can you commit to nearly an hour per day of working out? AND, you have to be in decent shape. If you’ve been riding the couch for the last few years, you probably won’t be able to perform the exercises. Also, if you are more than 15 pounds overweight, you should get your doc’s opinion about this program.

The nutrition guide is pretty good… IF you can stick to it. Moreover, this is crucial to the success of the program because the intensity of the workouts require proper fueling (protein, whole grains, veg).

Some may find the meal plans a bit complicated (preparing fresh foods 5 times a day). They also plug their food products (P90X shakes and bars), which can get expensive if you choose to use these instead of taking the time to prepare the meals.

Bottom line? I give it paws up for those of you who can commit. But what if you can’t?

  1. I tried this with three girlfriends and they are just losing 10 to 20 pounds and tone up. It is working for them but for me in did work because I need to lose 75 pounds and couldn’t keep up at all. I have the lifestyle change with my food down and I walk two miles a day and just get up and dance to my XBOX dance central which is helping keep me active right now.

  2. I don’t use the meal plan at all, and I’ve found that the program works just fine for me. Mind you, I didn’t need to lose weight, just wanted to tone/firm up and build muscle. I’m also not a cardio person (and am an intermittent smoker), so the workouts are REALLY challenging for me as far as that goes, but I’m hooked. I absolutely love it.

  3. The Insanity Workout is awesome. In the past, I refused to participate in any cardio activities. Insanity motivates me to work hard and dig deep everyday. I love it!

  4. I’ve been in the U.S. Army for over twenty two years. I have never come across such a great work out. I enjoy a challenge when it comes to fitness and I believe this is it.!!! Besides challenging the body it keeps the mind focused too. This is a thousand tims better than the regimen I am accustomed to!!!! Shaun T has a great product!!!

  5. This is a real program for real people who give it a real effort. The nutrition plan is fine but I lost 15 pounds doing the program and watching my portions. You also have to eat clean. No junk, no refined grains, no sugary snacks or drinks except one, maybe, two times a week. Why would you work so hard doing this program and then throw it all away because of bad eating habits? It’s not easy but anything worthwhile, never is. Please watch your form and know your limits.

  6. Insanity is the best program, period. Beachbody are serious people and I have been using their programs for over 10 years starting with power 90, then P90X and Insanity. I am 50 y/o and can challenge most 20 y/o because of Insanity, they rock. Forget about the cons, if you want to be serious about your health, start now, I would suggest you start with power 90, then move up, but Insanity is the ultimate, I know several trainers that are inspire by Insanity, go for it!

  7. When I started Insanity, I took just over 19 minutes to run 2 miles (Army PT test), after ONE month of Insanity workouts, ignoring the food plan, I cut that time down almost FOUR minutes!!!!! I was astounded at the results! I love it and will continue even after I complete the 60 days.
    One tip… if you have bad or questionable knees, get a knee wrap from the weight trainers, saved my knees BIG TIME!

    • Hey Russell, I’m trying to cut my run time down on the APFT as well. How did your results look at the end of the program? I’m currently prepping for Airborne school (scheduled for May hopefully) and was wondering if this program would be worth my time? Right now, the best thing I’ve got in my arsenal is good ol’ 60/120’s. I’m sure you’ve done a lot of those.

  8. I THINK THIS PROGRAM IS GREAT. AT 70 YEARS OLD IT TOOK A LITTLE EXTRA TIME TO GET STARTED BUT I DID IT TWICE. IT INSPIRED ME TO NOW DO P90X. IF YOU PUT YOUR MND TO IT, IT WILL HELP. I DONOT PRETEND TO BE ABLE TO KEEP UP WITH SHAUN T OR HIS GROUP, BUT I GOT THROUGHT IT NONE THE WORSE FOR WEAR. ONE OF THE BEST PARTS IS IT ALLOWS YOU TO DO IT AT YOUR PACE. GREAT PROGRAM

  9. This workout program is wonderful! I completed 1 round and I am in the process of completing round 2. I’m gearing up for Asylum! It is a workout for those who are serious and willing to commit to not only the workout, but a change of lifestyle. The results you will get are amazing! It is something that you will never want to lose once you actually see your body transform and change. I’m on Day 85-Round 2. The workout is not just phyiscal, it is also mental. I give it a 10++++++++++++++++ out of 10. But, you will work it! Shuan T does not play and what he says can happen to your body in 60 days is no joke! That is if you are ready to committ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. My son is very interested in the “Insanity” workout DVD’s but it’s expensive for a single parent. I’m very hesistant on possibly purchasing them. Please give me any tip’s and scam alert’s. Thank’s for your time on reading this and would appreciate a response.

    • Hey Pearlene, I suggest looking on Craigslist and eBay. I got my real, authentic version for $45 on Craigslist at a video store surprisingly. Some guy gave it a try for two days and decided it was too hard and sold it to this store. I wouldn’t suggest dishing out $140 for it. See if you can find your son a non-bootlegged used copy with the nutrition guide and the calendar in it. If the calendar is already marked on, it’s really not that big of a deal.
