Derived from the fruits of black pepper and added to supplements because it may enhance nutrient absorption and for its ability to increase thermogenesis. Contraindications: Should not be taken with other medications as it may increase the absorption rate of the medicine.

Studies: Well, other than a lot of “studies show” read in supplement sales copy, there do not seem to be any conclusive studies on pyruvate bioperine and weight loss. There seems to be an effect on metabolism in obese, diabetic Zucker rats…okay… If anyone wants to dissect this and let me know if it can help increase metabolism in humans, please do… my eyeballs hurt!
